Staring down a 5-0 deficit early, the A American Legion I-5 Jeep Renegades came back to defeat Sedro Woolley, 9-5, Saturday night at Bearcat Stadium in Chehalis in the first round of the state tournament.
Headlined by a three-run blast from Weston Potter, the Renegades battled back from a tough start to the advance to the state quarterfinals Sunday at 6 p.m. against Wilder.
Miles Martin got the start on the bump, and lasted 2 ⅔ innings, giving up all five of the runs after a walk and four hits allowed. Carson White stepped up out of the field to pitch a scoreless 4 ⅓ innings in relief, giving up just three hits.

The Renegade bats finally came alive with White on the mound late, thanks to Potter’s homer, two RBIs from Carlos Vallejo and another from Jack Nelson.
Vallejo and Nelson also had two hits a piece to lead the Renegades.
