In Focus: Mossyrock community comes together for tree lighting

Approximately 150 people watched as the City of Mossyrock and Mossyrock Area Action League's  Christmas tree lit up for the first time during a lighting ceremony held by the city on Saturday, Dec. 9 outside of the Mossyrock Community Center.

Along with getting their pictures taken with Santa and the Grinch, children in attendance also got to participate in face painting and ornament decorating along with enjoying hot chocolate and popcorn while watching Disney Christmas specials.

Volunteers from the MAAL worked the event, and according to MAAL vice president Joe Blum and MAAL treasurer Judy Hollinger, they are always looking for more volunteers to help with other events the League puts on, like the Mossyrock Blueberry Festival.
