In Loving Memory of Anita Gunlogson: 1928-2021

Our beloved wife and mother, Anita (Reese) Gunlogson, was called by her loving Savior on July 3, 2021; she was 92 years old.
Anita was born in Concordia, Missouri on December 22, 1928, to Emily and Albert Reese. Her early years were spent in Missouri and in 1944 the family moved to Mexico City, Mexico. Upon their return, she attended the University of Indiana studying to be an English teacher. During her first year at the University, she met her husband, James B. Meyer. The two were married in 1948 and later moved to Seattle, Wash., where they raised three children: Christine (Meyer) Pfaff, Catherine Meyer, and Mark Meyer.
Anita worked at Pacific National Bank for about 15 years.
She loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Church of the Atonement. Anita loved singing in the church choir.
A few years after Jim’s death, Anita met and married Art Gunlogson. They settled in Chehalis, Wash., and faithfully attended Peace Lutheran Church. They spent the winters in Mesa, Arizona, for the next 15 years, where she was an avid golfer and shuffle-board player.
Anita is survived by her husband, Art; three children; three grandchildren, Kurt and Amy Hildahl, and Emily (Pfaff) Ramos; and sister, Edith Gibson. 
She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Emily Reese; husband, James Meyer; and sisters, Dorothy Ritzmann and Ruth Ott. 
The family wishes to express their deep gratitude and appreciation for the caregivers who provided round-the-clock care for their mother in her home and will forever be grateful for their kind and loving attention. 
There will be a family graveside service at Washington Memorial Park. A memorial service will be at Peace Lutheran Church in Chehalis on July 24th at 1pm Memorials may be sent to Assured Hospice of Centralia or the Peace Lutheran Church in Chehalis.
