On Nov. 12, 2024, Anita Renay (Swanson) Holt passed away surrounded by her family at Providence St. Peter Hospital Olympia, Washington. She was born July 19, 1952, at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Chula Vista, California, to Leonard Peter Swanson and Barbara Jean (Goyette) Swanson. She attended Mt. Saint Helens High School in Winlock, Washington, graduating in 1970.
She worked at Lewis County Central Dispatch for over 30 years, dutifully fulfilling that role and helping protect and care for her community. After retiring, she worked for Grants Towing, furthering her involvement with the community. She knew every person, back road and landmark in Lewis County. Anita was loved and respected by many.
Anita was an avid bowler and spent many years on teams at Fairway Lanes and traveling to tournaments. Camping was something she loved, and going to the beach with family and friends. She loved and cared deeply for many over the years.
Anita married Gerald (Jerry) Holt on Oct. 18, 1981, bringing into her life daughters, Michelle and Judy, and sons, Jerry, Jr. and Clair. Anita was also mother and mentor to Doneia.
She is survived by her sister, Tracy (Kelly) Harness; her two daughters, Michelle Holt and Doneia Hoyt; and son, Jerry Holt. She had 14 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces who she loved and cherished. Also, she is survived by her beloved dog, Chica.
She was preceded in death by her husband ,Jerry Holt; her parents, Leonard and Barbara Swanson; her brother, Bruce Swanson; son, Clair Holt; and daughter, Judy Holt.
A celebration of life will be scheduled in the spring of 2025.
