In Loving Memory of April Dotson

Posted

Our beautiful mother, grandmother, neighbor and friend April Dotson went to dance with the angels on July 29, 2021 surrounded by those who loved her the most. She was 74 years old.

April was the youngest of three children born to Douglas and Helen Gardner in Morton, Washington. She has two brothers Joseph Gardner (Shirley) of Kirkland, Washington, and John Gardner of Randle, Washington.

April was brought up around horses and had a long time love of them. In her life she was an accountant/tax guru, artist, softball player, bowler and enjoyed making hats and afghans for friends and family. She also loved the beach and road trips. April loved to gamble. She enjoyed the casino but could turn any game into a wager. Yahtzee for money? Penny a point! She was the queen! She also loved the many day trips and adventures with her friend George.

She always had a smile on her face and love in her heart. She was kind, generous and would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it.

April liked to spend time with her grandchildren Fawn Kroeker (Dave), Troy Walters, Ryan Justice and Garth Nichols. She also had six great-grandchildren, Emily Kroeker, Ember Kroeker, Keara Justice- Montez, Rylie Justice-Johnson, Ryder Justice-Jones and Emmalee Justice-Parker.

April is survived by her loving daughters, Melodie (Rod) Justice-Ryan, Michele Justice, a bonus daughter Molly Wilson, her brother John Gardner, her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her devoted furry friend, Jezebel.

Last but not least is her special friend George Vanderpool Sr. He helped make her last five years her best five years. We cannot thank him enough for everything he has done not only for mom, but us too.

April is preceded in death by both her parents, her brother Joe and her grandson Garth.

Per April’s request, there will be no service. We would like to invite family and friends to join us for a potluck Yahtzee tournament/celebration of life in her honor on Sept. 18, 2021 at 1 p.m. 126 Savio Road, Glenoma, Washington at Albert Justice’s shop.
