In Loving Memory of Betty L. Prichard: 1932-2023

Posted

Betty Prichard peacefully made her way to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan, 17, 2023, in Chehalis, Washington.

Betty was born on Jan. 27, 1932, in Missouri to Walter Kennon and Willie Kennon. Betty was the second youngest of 10 children. She grew up on a farm and went to school in a small country schoolhouse. She had wonderful memories of her childhood with her siblings while growing up on the farm.

When Betty was a teenager, her father, mother and siblings moved to Vancouver, Washington, to work in the shipyards.

Betty met Donald Wallace, from Toledo, Washington, when she was a young woman and they married and had two sons, Randy and Greg. They divorced after two years of marriage.

Betty met Delmer Gates and was married for 22 years and had three children, Debbie, Ken and Lori. Betty was a homemaker and they enjoyed doing family things like boating and camping. They divorced in 1973.

Betty moved to Chehalis and met Bill Prichard; they married in 1983 and owned a farm where Betty loved growing gardens and having all kinds of farm animals and crocheting. She loved having her grandchildren over as well as holiday get-togethers.

Betty is survived by husband of 39 years, Bill; her son, Ken (Georgia) Gates, Lori (Craig) Greene; her brother, Herb (Judy) Kennon; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Betty’s death was preceded by her son, Greg Wallace; daughter, Debbie Stovall; her parents; and nine of her siblings.

There will be a celebration of life this spring or early summer.
