In Loving Memory of Christina Lawler

Posted

Our girl, Christina Lynn Lawler, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022, while on a road trip with her dad to Montana, a place she truly loved.

While we are heartbroken she is no longer with us, we take comfort in knowing she is at peace and finally pain free.

Christina grew up in Napavine, Washington. She was the first of four girls to two loving parents. As a small child, her laugh was contagious and her smile could (and did) light up any room. She could easily make a friend anywhere and held onto them forever.

Christina absolutely treasured her stepson Evan and her four nephews. She spent as much time with them as possible, capturing photos and showing them to anyone and everyone. She was such a proud auntie not only to her siblings’ boys, but also to her friends’ children. She loved being called “Auntie Stina.”

She had a deep love of animals, as she was raised on a farm. Her three dogs were her kids and she treated them as such.

Christina was crowned Princess Napawinah in 2001 and still helped out on the committee. This last summer, she took great joy in helping the girls who participated and with the Napawinah float.

In high school, she was a cheerleader, competed in track and field, and was also in band.

Christina lived every day to the fullest. She never lived in fear or let anyone know how truly ill she was. She put others first and would be the first one on your doorstep with one of her signature cakes if you needed help. She would listen, give advice and provide comfort to anyone in need.

During her short life she was burdened with many health issues. This never stopped her from living her life how she chose. She was fearless. She was tough. She was amazing. And she will be missed every single day.

She is survived by both parents Cody Lawler and Karen Upton (Jim); three sisters Cassandra Whitaker (Eric), Katherine Harris (Pete) and Courtney Peters (David); stepbrother Brandon Upton; stepson Evan Doble; and four nephews Jackson and Wyatt Whitaker, and Calvin Harris and Elliott Peters; as well as many uncles, aunts and cousins.

She is also survived by her Montana family: Andrea Smith (Chad), Jessica Sandstrom (Jesse), Jackie and Michelle Parella, Lyla Leske, and Cameron McCleary.

She is preceded in death by grandparents Aseneth Bridge and Gary South, John Lenard (Len) Lawler and Norma Lawler; uncle Perry Lawler; stepmom Jeri Lawler; stepdad Ralph Chick; and her dear friends Chelsea Simpson and Gage Hall.

A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Nov. 13, 2022, at the Newaukum Grange in Chehalis, Washington. It will be a potluck, so please bring your favorite dish.
