In Loving Memory of Christine Steense: 1929-2022

Christine (Park/Baldwin) Steensen passed away of natural causes on Sept. 12, 2022, in Lacey, Washington. She was born July 29, 1929, to Cecil and Veneva Park in Bucoda, Washington. She also resided in the Washington cities of Burien, Centralia, Olympia and Shelton. 

Christine graduated from Centralia High School in 1948. She worked at a Centralia pharmacy and then for the State of Washington. 

She was a very talented painter. She loved to bake, cook and grow her own vegetables. She was always busy with some craft or another, which included quilting. She loved reading and dancing. She also was eager to lend a hand to help her family and friends. 

Christine is survived by her sons Gary A. Baldwin and Rick J. Baldwin, daughters Jacqueline K. Baldwin-Drewes and Peggy A. Baldwin-Johnson, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her grandchildren Kayleen Drewes and Casey Drewes, parents, and sisters Yvonne Park, Anita Melborn, Valerie Jungmayer and Geraldine Massey. 

Services will be held at noon on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022, at the Skookumchuck Grange, 5345 Skookumchuck Road SE, Tenino, Washington, 98589.
