In Loving Memory of Eldon Iverson: 1924-2021

Eldon Orville Iverson, 96, of Centralia, passed away on July 12, 2021, at his home in Centralia, Washington, surrounded by his family and loved ones. 
He was born on Dec. 3, 1924, to Lavern and Mildred (Backman) Iverson in Newell, South Dakota. He attended school in South Dakota; Wyoming; and Rochester, Washington. As well, he attended Prairie Bible Institute and other various higher education facilities. 
Eldon worked as a pastor of various missions in addition to Forks Baptist, Hillcrest Baptist, Mountain View Baptist (MT), and Good Samaritan, and supplied as intern pastor during his entire ministry, including post “retirement.” 
He was also a highly sought-after Timber Faller for various employers including, but not limited to, Weyerhauser, Ernie Cashman, and as a self contractor. On Sept. 9, 1956, he married Gay Lynn Bolender. Eldon and Gay Lynn lived in Centralia, Washington. 
He was a member of the Master Gardeners, the Southern Baptist Convention, and the NRA. He was also an avid reader and an avid outdoorsman (recreational farming, gardening, hunting, and fishing, which included a stint as a commercial fisherman while pastoring Forks Baptist and falling trees full time). 
Eldon is survived by his loving spouse of 64 years Gay Lynn; daughters, Joanie Marie 
(Richard) Craig of Stanwood, Washington, Tereasa Gay (Ivan) Carlson of Mount Vernon, Washington, Patricia Ann (Michael) Duncan of Ocean Shores, Washington, and Christy (Ryan) Brannon of Centralia, Washington; sons Eldon Dean (Tani) Iverson of Arlington, Washington, Philip (Robin) Iverson of Onalaska, Washington, Peter Eric (Stephanie) Iverson of Peoria, Arizona, and Joseph (Tomara) Miller of Killeen, Texas; sisters Marjorie (Stanley) Baldwin and Martha Linnea (Terry) McCarthy; brother Jimmy Lee (Juliene) Iverson; 35 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. 
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 17, 2021, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Alder Street Baptist Church, 1010 Alder Street, Centralia, Washington. 
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at the Alder Street Baptist Church, with Pastor Rudy Nix officiating. Potluck reception following burial service. 
Private burial will take place in the Grand Mound Cemetery.
