James “Jim” Wayne Adkins died on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021 at St. Peter Hospital in Olympia after a brief illness. He was born on March 4, 1952. He was the youngest of four to Wayne and Arlene Adkins. He grew up in Doty, Washington and while he only moved a few miles from there, he still always considered Doty his home. Jim worked for Weyerhauser and retired after 44 years as a timber faller, log truck driver and construction worker. He always loved being in the woods, whether he was working or hunting. He was a lover of all animals and made it a point to feed any animal that came near his house, but he especially loved his dogs Bull and Norman. Jim is survived by his wife of 49 years Patti, his daughter Nichole, granddaughter Reese and his sister Penny Wotton. He was preceded by his son John, and his siblings John Adkins and Starla Terry. At Jim’s request, there will be no funeral service.
