John Matthew Wheeler, 67, was called home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2022, at his home in Olympia, Washington. John was born Sept. 8, 1954, at Centralia General Hospital to Jack and Barbara Wheeler. He grew up in Centralia where he graduated from Centralia High School in 1972.
John attended beauty school in Tacoma and began his career as a hair stylist in Olympia. He married Sherry Pollman in 2016.
A man of strong faith, John especially valued his relationship with the Lord. He enjoyed both water and snow skiing, boating, cooking, collecting antiques and was an avid enthusiast of all televised sports.
John was preceded in death by his father Jack Wheeler. He is survived by his wife Sherry, of Olympia; sister Jodi Wheeler Miller, of Olympia; children Max, Lauren and Molly, all of Olympia; and brother Marc and mother Barbara Wheeler, both of Olympia; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, 2022, at Claquato Cemetery, 142 Stearns Road, Chehalis. A celebration of life for family and friends is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022, at Church in the Woods, 6424 Waldrick Road, Tenino.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Church in the Woods.
