John “Johnny” Eugene Hall, 54, passed away on Sept. 3, 2025, in Olympia, Washington. Born on Sept. 15, 1970, in Yakima, Washington, Johnny lived a vibrant life fueled by passion, generosity and a deep love for family and friends.
From a young age, Johnny was immersed in the world of automobiles. He had a lifelong passion for hot rods and classic vehicles, dedicating countless hours to finding and restoring old trucks and cars. His eye for unique collectibles extended beyond the garage — he delighted in scrapping and salvaging hidden treasures wherever he could find them. Whether it was a forgotten pickup behind a barn or a rare vintage gem at a garage sale, Johnny had a gift for seeing potential where others saw rust.
His generous spirit touched everyone around him. Johnny was always ready to lend a hand, day or night, often dropping everything to help someone in need. Friends and family fondly remember his late-night rescues and impromptu repair sessions, usually ending with laughter echoing through Mom’s garage as he worked on his latest project.
Johnny’s legacy lives on through the memories shared by those who knew him — of stories told over the hood of an old Chevy or the sound of tools clinking as he brought new life to forgotten machines.
Johnny is survived by his mother, Colleen Hall; his son, Jacob Curtis; his brother, Terry Hall (Crystal); and his sister, Tonya Nesbitt (Brad); as well as countless other family and friends who will carry forward his memory with love.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Hall, and his son, Nicholas Hall.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Skookumchuck Grange, 5345 Skookumchuck Road S.E., Tenino, Washington, 98589. The family will provide main dishes and refreshments; guests are welcome to bring side dishes of their choice.
May his memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved him.
