In Loving Memory of Johnny L. DeRosia: 1931-2021

Johnny L. DeRosia died Aug. 5, 2021, one month and one day shy of his 90th birthday. He was born in Berkenfeld, Oregon, to Basil and Martha DeRosia. He was the oldest of four children and is survived by his two youngest sisters, and his lifelong companion Dolores Nugent. He graduated from Centralia High School in 1950, then served in the U.S. Navy from 1950 to 1954. He served on the USS Essex during the Korean War. After the Navy, he opened his own dental lab and had a successful business making dentures until his retirement. He was a craftsman and received many compliments on the quality of his work. An avid tennis player for many years, he had a well earned reputation as a considerate doubles partner and a consummate gentleman. He and Dolores enjoyed opera and supported the Seattle Opera Guild. Almost everyone who met him liked him, he was friendly and accepted people as they were. His last years were lived at the Holiday Inn Express in Chehalis where he was well loved and taken care of. He was laid to rest at Mt. View Cemetery in Centralia.
