Posted

Lola “Sis” Barclay passed away Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, at the home of her daughter in Chehalis, Washington. She lived a beautiful, loving life for 95 years. She was a very special lady, always cheerful and friendly. Sis was born in Tenino on June 11, 1929, to Charles and Mabel (Kosola) Yantis, from a Thurston County pioneer family.

She married Eldon Barclay on July 3, 1948. They had two daughters, Christine (Lee) Wright and Connie (Rob) McDonnell of Fort Worth, Texas. The family moved all around the country for several years, returning to Thurston County in the 70s.

Sis was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon, a sister, Gerry Imler, and special companion, Louie Rota.

They are also survived by five grandchildren, Melanie (Chad) Martin, Jason (Daphne) McDonnell, Patrick (Brenda) Wright, Amanda Kennedy and Kimberly (Joseph) Soto; six great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; and a sister, Judy (Glenn) Logan

A celebration of life will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Skookumchuck Grange Hall. We would love to have her family and friends join us.
