In Loving Memory of Marguerite Frances Fuhr (Ables): 1929-2022

Marguerite Frances Fuhr (Ables), 93, of Toledo, Washington passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Nov. 10, 2022, after a brief bout with pneumonia. She was born in Clinton, Missouri on June 21, 1929, to Georgia and Don Eberhart. 

She was raised in the farming communities of Osceola and Humansville in the Missouri Ozarks. She married Peter Fuhr on Nov. 7, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri. He passed away in 1962 leaving her a widow. She raised her two children on a farm in Richmond, Missouri before moving to Washington state in 1977. 

She retired to Toledo in 2005 where she resided until moving into Sharon Care Assisted Living in 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband of 17 years Peter Fuhr, her husband Marzine Ables, both parents, brothers Bill Eberhart and Ted Rathbun, and her son Jomar Ables.  She is survived by her daughter Janice Kaufman and husband Jack, of Toledo; son Gary Fuhr, of Missouri; sister Lavona Clements, of Wenatchee; three grandsons Peter Cringan, Jason Kaufman and Shawn Kaufman; granddaughter Alana Carroll; and seven great-grandchildren Kameron and Pythagoras Cringan, Amelia, Kate and Jayda Kaufman, Aiden Mills and Josie Carroll.  

Marguerite was an artist. She enjoyed painting, drawing, hand quilting and embroidery. She had a lifelong love of country music. She challenged her mind through games and puzzles of all kinds. She was sharp as a tack with a great sense of humor. Her laugh was infectious and her warm, smiling eyes expressed love to all around her. She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family, all of whom she was very proud of. She was known for her kindness, her laugh and her smile. She was always creating something for those who were near and dear to her heart. She had a cheerful and optimistic outlook on life. Whether you called her Marguerite, mom, grandma, GG-ma, neighbor or friend, please join us at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022, for a service in celebration of her long and loving life.
