She was preceded by her parents and brothers, John (Jack) and Thomas. She is survived by her sister, Therese, of Cosmopolis, Washington. She is also survived by many cousins in Washington, Oregon, Nebraska, Minnesota and Canada.
She is from two large families — both Lewis County pioneers.
She and her sister were one year apart in age and very close. They traveled often, driving the West Coast and bus trips.
Church and family were important to her. Weekly drives to “The Farm” family reunions and Christmas dinner with all who would come. She and her sister were designated “babysitter” for these times.
She was active in church as lector, eucharistic minister and in the choir. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Church, Chehalis. She attended St. Joseph’s School and St. Mary’s Academy, Toledo.
She was very talented in crafts. She was a square dancer and loved shopping in thrift stores.
After high school, she worked at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital, Tacoma, until her father’s death in 1963.
She returned to Chehalis and worked at St. Helens Hospital business, office rising to business manager. Then, she worked at Security State Bank, moving several positions through her 25 years. She made many friends and was called “Auntie” by some.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Joseph Church, Chehalis, at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 12. A gathering will be held at the church hall after. Burial will be at St. Francis Mission Cemetery beside the church immediately after the gathering.
