In Loving Memory of Marsha A. (Smith) Mauel: 1954-2021

Marsha A. (Smith) Mauel died peacefully at her home in Rochester, Washington, on Dec. 2, 2021, at the age of 67. 

She was born Aug. 11, 1954, in Chehalis, Washington to Edwin and Cheryl Smith. She married Les Mauel on Aug. 3, 1985. Marsha brought two children from a previous marriage to the family. Before retirement, she worked at Lucky Eagle Casino for over 20 years as a revenue auditor. Marsha enjoyed traveling with family, and went on several adventures over the years enjoying different parts of this nation and world. 

Unfortunately she was not able to do much after retiring due to COVID-19 and her illness. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Edwin and Cheryl Smith. 

Marsha is survived by her children Amy (Scott) Anderson of Washington, and Michael Thompson of Wisconsin; siblings Diane (Joe), Sue Wing of Kelso, Washington, Frank (Val) Smith of Chehalis, Washington, Daphne (Brian) Young of Tacoma, Washington, Russell (Cindy) Smith of Centralia, Washington, and Eric (Barb) Smith of North Las Vegas, Nevada; four grandchildren Andrew Konz, Anthony Konz, Sander Thompson and Marissa Anderson and one great-grandchild, Bastian Konz. 

Family and friends meant everything to Marsha and being her friend was being a friend for life. She was a forgiving soul who didn't carry a grudge and liked helping people. She enjoyed working together on the farm with her husband, Les. She was his right hand woman, leaving her touches and influence behind. 

Her family plans for a memorial service on June 11, 2022, at Sticklin Funeral Chapel, 1437 S. Gold St., Centralia, Washington, 98531 at 11 a.m.
