Marsha Jane Dupree (Merchant), 1937-2024, passed peacefully Aug. 28 at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington. Marsha, from Winlock, was born May 17 in Ryderwood, Washington, to parents Leroy Landon Merchant and Ruth Estella Merchant (Pettit).
Preceding Marsha’s death are Merchant siblings Leroy Jr. (Mona), James (Erna), Patsy Gottfried (Robert) Lyle, Donald, Harlan (Carla), and Larry (Carol); husband, Richard Lee Padgett; children Richard Jr. (Dorothy), Guy, and Brock Padgett; and second husband John Dupree.
Marsha leaves sister Winnie Rakoz (Larry); children Dianna Padgett, Dana (Jonna) Padgett and David (Gloria) Dupree; nine grandchildren and three great-granddaughters. Marsha was a switchboard operator and caregiver, known for giving puzzle pictures to many loved family, gardening, a Seahawks and Betty Boop fan.
Graveside service for family will be at 11 a.m. at Little Falls Cemetery by Cattermole Funeral Home and a celebration of life and for all at 1-4 p.m. at The Tracks, both Sept. 27 in Vader, Washington.
