In Loving Memory of Nellie Lahmann: 1923-2023

Nellie Louise (Futter) Lahmann peacefully passed away on Jan. 19, 2023, at home in Olympia, Washington. She was five weeks shy of her 100th birthday. The daughter of Arthur and Katherine (Constant) Futter, Nellie was born Feb. 25, 1923, in Sherman County, Oregon. She graduated from Rochester High School and on June 14, 1942, married her high school sweetheart, Frank Lahmann, and raised three sons. 

Over the years, she also resided in the Washington cities of Carson, Rochester, Seattle and Sherman County, Oregon. She worked on wheat ranches and farms, at Boeing in support of World War II war efforts and as head teller at the Columbia Gorge Bank in Stevenson. 

Nellie is survived by her son, Tom (Kathy) Lahmann; son, Bill (Mickey) Lahmann; daughter-in-law, Lani Lahmann; grandchildren, Jenna (Tarleton) Gillespie; Ryan (Elizabeth) Lahmann; Benjamin Lahmann; Andrew Lahmann; Michelle (Mathew) Conrow; Grant (Kelsey) Lahmann; Jill Lahmann; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank (2008); son, Bob; parents; brother, James (Dorothy) Futter; and brother, Vernon (Bethene) Futter. 

A celebration of Nellie’s life will be held at a later date.
