In Loving Memory of Patricia (Pat) Siesser: 1930-2021

Posted

Our angel Patricia (Pat) Siesser returned home, passing peacefully on Sept. 10, 2021, at the Arbor Health Morton Hospital. She would have been 91 later this year.

Pat’s life reflected her deep faith and love of God. She started each day with a devotional such as, “You are my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.” (Psalm 25:5.)

Some of her parting words were “I’ve lived a wonderful, full life. I’ve been so blessed.”

Born Patricia Stevens in 1930, in Centralia, Washington, to Jack and Jewell (Fort) Stevens, Pat grew up in Centralia and Elma. After high school, she worked at the telephone company as an exchange operator. Pat married William (Bill) Siesser in 1950, making their home in Morton, Washington.

Pat and Bill moved to Buena Park, California, in 1957 and returned to Morton in 1962 to reunite with family and friends, and to where Bill had a great 30-year career as foreman with the Lewis County PUD. After retirement, Pat and Bill enjoyed 17 fabulous years traveling the lower 48 U.S. states, Alaska, and Canada, and excursions to Turkey, Hawaii, and the Panama Canal. She and Bill were married 59 precious years and loved each other deeply.

After Bill’s passing, Pat reconnected with a childhood friend, Dale Beerbower, of Elma, and spent nine great years together. Dale’s family had a special place in her heart.

Pat loved. She loved her God, children, family, friends and the Morton community. She loved life. She was a genuine, caring, nonjudgmental person.

Anyone who knew Pat knows that she loved sports. She attended and cheered on Morton’s girls and boys basketball, football, and volleyball games for 60 years. She loved her Mariners baseball and Gonzaga basketball.

And Pat gave. She gave unselfishly of her time and finances to school and athletic events, scholarships, Gil Coleman Orthopedic Guild, bowling leagues, PTA, Fire Mountain Arts Council, Roxy Theater, and so much more. An active member of the First Church of God, she served in various leadership roles.

Pat cooked and served at the senior citizen center and enjoyed weekly pinochle with a special group of friends. She served as a board member on the Arbor Health Hospital Foundation, and volunteered at the hospital gift shop for over 10 years.

Pat is survived by her sister Nola Duvall (Gerald Schaefer) of Aberdeen, Washington; daughters Gwen (Dave) Jones of Olympia and Gayle (Brent) Heinemann of Olympia; son Brent Siesser of Turkey; sister-in-law Ruth Siesser of LaMirada, California; four grandchildren Lisa (Ken) Bitikofer of Turner, Oregon, Bart (Jodi) Jones of Olympia, Ron McKenzie of Salem, Oregon, and Kellee (Ryan) Persoon of Gettysburg, South Dakota; eight great-grandchildren Alexis, Rilee, Alia, Tyler, Kaycee, Rayel, Kenden, and Caden; niece Patti (Vaughn) Sherman; and many other loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill and parents.

Her family extends a special thanks to Dr. Mark Hansen, doctors, nurses, and others at Arbor Health Morton Hospital for their excellent care, guidance and compassion in her final days.

A service and celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 2, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Morton Junior-Senior High School gymnasium, 152 Westlake Ave., Morton. Refreshments and beverages will be provided.

In honor of Pat’s love of sports, we suggest wearing Morton White Pass School District, Gonzaga, Mariners or favorite team attire.

The family will hold a private burial service in Montesano. Arrangements are under the care of Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam. Memories for the family may be recorded by signing the online register at www.colemanmortuary.net.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Morton Church of God, Arbor Health Hospital Foundation, or a favorite charity.
