In Loving Memory of Rebecca ‘Becky’ Ellen Knoll: 1956-2022

Rebecca E. Knoll, 66, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer at Bellevue Overlake Medical Center. 

Becky was born to Gordon and Mary Fremersdorf on April 7, 1956, in Centralia. Her childhood was spent on a small farm in Cinebar, Washington, attending Shoestring Valley Church and graduating with honors from Onalaska High School in 1974. 

Becky went on to marry her high school sweetheart, Patrick Hanson. While living in Onalaska, Becky and Pat had three children before going their separate ways in 1994. Becky attended Centralia Community College and received her degree in nursing, as well as remarrying in 1997 to Jay Knoll and relocating to Porter, Washington, then settling in Ocean City, Washington. 

Becky worked as a licensed practical nurse until retiring in June of 2022. She was very caring and dedicated to those in her care. She was a devoted member of the Copalis Community Church in Copalis, Washington for over a decade. She had a great fondness and love for her grandchildren, gardening, making jewelry, the scripture and going to the beach. 

Becky was preceded in death by her daughter Dawniel Hanson, and parents Gordon and Mary Fremersdorf. She is survived by husband Jay Knoll; son Aaron Hanson (Jacqui), of Darrington; daughter Jessi Hanson (Chris), of Onalaska; grandchildren Jackson, Ash, Katherine and Fredrick; and stepson Jacob Knoll. 

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Jan. 17, 2023, at Shoestring Valley Community Church, 104 Frase Road, Onalaska, Washington. Refreshments will follow in the church fellowship hall.
