Robert Leroy Stoumbaugh (Bob) was born May 3, 1939, in Denver, Colorado, to George and Helen Stoumbaugh. He passed away on Nov. 24, 2024, after a lengthy illness.
Bob was the first of seven children. In 1953, his family moved from Denver to Tacoma, Washington. He attended Lincoln High School and then joined the Air Force in 1957. He was stationed in Riverside, California, where he met and married his beautiful wife of 51 years, Beverly Jean Quint.
After completing his Air Force term, he moved his young family back to Tacoma. He retired from the Tacoma Fire Department as a Battalion Chief, then moved to Chehalis.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; his parents; sister, Georgia; and his brother, Marlin. He is survived by his three loving children and their spouses: his daughter, Roberta (Bobbie), and spouse, Greg; son, Gerald (Jerry), and spouse, Debbie; and his son, Jeff, and spouse, Patti. He is also survived by four sisters, Bonnie, Ellie, Donna and Lonna. He has eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, friends and community acquaintances.
Bob was an amazing man who forever will remain in our hearts.
A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. March 22, 2025, at The Barn on Jackson located at 3605 Jackson Highway, Chehalis, Washington.
