In Loving Memory of Ronald James Anderson : 1959-2021

Posted
Ron was called home by our Heavenly Father on June 21, 2021, in Seattle at Kindred Hospital following a long illness. He was born on January 7, 1959, in Seattle to Ed and Shirley (Diamond) Anderson.
Ron's early childhood was spent in Pe Ell, Wash., where he was affectionately called Ronnie by family and friends. So many of his favorite memories were growing up in Pe Ell, playing with neighborhood friends and cousins. He especially enjoyed playing Bingo at the City Hall and spending time at the family store (Milanowski's) on Main Street. He also loved spending time with Grandpa Wallace "High-Ball" and Grandma Flossie Anderson in Doty.
The family moved to Lebam in 1972. He loved the fioutdoors, fishing, hunting, riding his motorcycle, and then cruising all over town in his green Comet with the jacked-up rear end with the "tunes" blasting. Ron graduated from Willapa Valley High School in 1977. He worked at several places following graduation, but the most memorable was the Seafood Cannery in South Bend. The country boy had lots of stories about driving the delivery truck to California! Ron moved, as he would say, from the Coast to the Eastside around 1985, living in George and Royal City. He was a chemical fertilizer mixer and truck driver for Sun Royal, which became Wolfkill, then Cenex.
He married Cheryl Huss on February 14, 1986. Together they raised her children, Dennis and Jennifer VanDyken. Ron loved them as his own and was so proud of them. They divorced in 2000.
Ron married Phyllis Church on August 18, 2001. They lived in Moses Lake until moving back home to the Coast in November 2020.
Ron was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Wallace and Flossie Anderson; maternal grandparents, Barney and Agnes Diamond; his dad, Ed Anderson; and many special aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; mother, Shirley Anderson; sisters, Linda (Shawn) Spears and Stacy (John) Kaech; nephews, Johnathan and Nickolas Kaech; step-children, Dennis VanDyken, Jennifer VanDyken, Jamie Church, and Rachel Church (Vinny); granddaughter, Celina; 6 grandchildren from the Eastside; and many cousins. He was a dog lover his whole life and adored his special Siggy who was always by his side.
Ron was looking forward to crabbing, clam digging and fifishing after moving home. He always had music in his soul and enjoyed listening to his “tunes,” especially the oldies. He loved visiting with family and friends and his laugh was unforgettable. Ron was deeply spiritual, loved with all his heart and never left anything unsaid. May we all be so blessed.
He was cremated through Stoller's Mortuary in Raymond, flWash. In lieu of flowers, you may send donations in his memory to Willapa Harbor Helping Hands at PO Box 597, South Bend, Wash., 98586.
A Celebration of Ron's Life will be held on Sunday, July 25, 2021, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Pe Ell VFW Hall on 411 1st Street. A luncheon will be provided. Ron was a Seahawks fanatic, so wear your Hawks gear!
Ron and our family adopted our Uncle Errol Anderson's phrase. So instead of goodbye, Ron would say, "See you down the trail.”
