Ruth Lynne Nelson, 56, of Mossyrock, Washington, died peacefully at her home on the morning of Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021. She was born on Feb. 16, 1965, in Newfane, New York, to William and Maxine Hare. Lynne attended Newfane Public Schools, earning her diploma in 1983. From there, she graduated from MarJon School of Beauty and worked as a licensed cosmetologist for the next 30 years in New York and Washington state. Her greatest joy was the birth of her son, Kenneth Alan (KJ) Sears Jr., in 1986. In 1996, she met John Russell (Rusty) Nelson, and two years later moved with her son across the country to Mossyrock and was wed on Aug. 14, 1998. Family was very important to Lynne and she cherished spending time with those she loved, especially her granddaughter, Avianna. Naturally, she was a Buffalo Bills fan, but also became a loyal follower of the Seahawks and Mariners. One of Lynne’s favorite things to do was having friends over to watch football and make food for them. As a high school coach’s wife, she learned to withstand the ups and downs of winning and losing and always looked forward to November, when she “got her husband back.” Lynne also enjoyed loving her cats and dogs, sewing, playing cards, camping and vacations to warm places where she could enjoy the sunshine. She was also very patriotic, interested in national politics and was a dedicated Republican who loved America. Lynne was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and wife who loved unconditionally. She was preceded in death by her father William Hare, of Brownsville, Texas; stepfather and mother George and Maxine Emery; and stepbrother George Emery, Jr., all of Newfane, New York. She is survived by her husband Rusty, of Mossyrock; son KJ; brother Tim Hare; stepsister Charleen Williams; daughter-in-law Sarah Wagner; and granddaughter Avianna Lynne Sears, all of Newfane, New York; sister Lisa Adinolfe, of Conyers, Georgia; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service for Ruth Lynne Nelson will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022 at New Beginnings Community Church in Salkum, Washington, with Pastor Wayne Nelson officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.
