S.C. Schantz, local activist, passed away at Providence Centralia Hospital on Feb. 13.
He will be buried next to his father, Archie, at Chaplin- Bothwell Cemetery in Saskatchewan. He is survived by his brother, Elwood; nephews, Kris and Kurt; stepson, Wayne; best friend, Dan, chauffeur and intellectual sparring partner; friend, Kevin, the car buff; and lifelong friend, caretaker and partner, Mary.
Sherwood was predeceased by his siblings, Sterling, Beatrice, Silvia, Chris, Tony, Fronie and Robert; and former spouse, Audrey.
Sherwood led a long life, working as a radio television host, editor of LewisNews.com, master builder, farmer, mechanic and Canadian soldier. His hobbies included antique vehicles, llamas and advocating against governmental overreach.
Burial at Chaplin-Bothwell Cemetery in Chaplin, Saskatchewan, Canada, will be held sometime on Thursday, Feb. 20, or the following week. Contact Kurt Schantz at 403- 891-5550 for more information.
