In great sadness, we share the passing of our much-loved Sandy (Sam) Borden-Foote on Monday, Nov. 25.
Born in Aberdeen, Washington, in 1962, Sandy was raised in Rochester where she graduated as an RHS Warrior in 1980. In high school, Sandy was a good student, a cheerleader, active in clubs, and a friend to everyone.
Shortly after her marriage to Dave in 1985, they moved to Napa, California, where they stayed and raised their two children, Danielle and Justin, over the next 20 years. Sandy and Dave returned to Rochester in 2004.
Sandy spent most of her professional career in the hospitality industry, where her natural-born customer service skills and ability to lead landed her in management roles, including nearly 10 years at Downtown Joe’s in Napa.
More importantly, Sandy loved being a wife, mom, and grandma.
Her family and friends were her priority. She loved spending time camping or having a bonfire or barbecue with “the gang,” watching the Seahawks and hosting family Christmas, complete with our annual coloring contest. Sandy was quick with a witty comeback and smart as heck! If you knew her, you loved her. She was honest, devoted, straightforward and funny!
Sandy is survived by her devoted husband of 39 years, David (Dave) Foote; her beloved children, Danielle (Sean) Dalton, of Sacramento, and Justin (Lacey) Foote, of Centralia; and her cherished grandchildren, Ryder, Drake, Asher, Leela and Shelby. Sandy is also survived by her parents, John (Jack) Borden, of Centralia, and Marcia and Jim Grace, of Rochester; and her siblings, Mike (Jody) Borden, Marcy (Don) McKenzie Jennifer (Greg) Miller; along with many nieces and nephews whom she adored.
Everyone who loved her is welcome to join us for Sandy’s celebration of life, which will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Swede Hall, 18543 Albany St. SW, Rochester, Washington. Sweet and savory snacks will be provided.
