In Loving Memory of Thomas Marvin Beatty: 1945-2021

Thomas Marvin Beatty went to be with the Lord on Sept. 23, 2021. He was born to Dr. Joseph O. and Sylvia Beatty on March 9, 1945, in Portland, Oregon. Tom graduated from Marymount Military Academy in Tacoma, Washington. While he lived in Portland, he loved to do yard work and work in the garden. Tom was his mother’s caregiver in her later years. He was very loving and kind; he touched many hearts. 

After his mother’s death, Tom moved to Chehalis in 1993. He was employed by Work Opportunity for a time. He liked to bowl and spend time in his workshop. 

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, brother Joe and sister Valeva. He is survived by a sister Kathleen Gatto; sister-in-law Eleanor Beatty; nieces Jeanne Gatto, Teresa Gatto, Tamara Swindler, Heather Carter; and nephews Mark Beatty and Jimmy Murray, along with numerous grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins. At the time of his death, he was living with Elaine Bonar and her brother Duane. 

Tom will be laid to rest with his parents in Lincoln Memorial Park in Portland on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021 with a graveside service officiated by Rev. Ralph Carr.
