She is survived by her sister Louise Robinson; her niece Christina Denny; three step-daughters Lynda Bouchard, Janis Santi and Marcia Hedgers; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was born in Doty, Washington, raised in Elk Creek and spent much of her life in Centralia and Chehalis. Vera graduated from Pe Ell High School in 1944 and went on to attend Centralia College.

Together with her first husband Willy, she owned Helm Electronics in Chehalis.

Vera was an avid lover of nature, spending much of her time outdoors hiking all over the Pacific Northwest, including summiting seven major peaks and the Wonderland Trail. She collected flowers, rocks, stamps and books, all of which she loved to share with her family.

She will be remembered as a loving, sweet person who happily took in her stepfamily as her family unconditionally and who had a hug ready for anyone.
