In Loving Memory of Wilda Osborne: 1918-2022

Wilda Ione Osborne, at 104 years old, died at Riverwest Assisted Living on June 6, 2022. Wilda was born on Feb. 3, 1918 to Grover and Ellen (Beck) Senn and was the granddaughter of two Lewis County pioneer families. After graduating from Chehalis High School, she worked in retail sales. 

She married Ivan Julius Osborne on Oct. 20, 1939. During WWII, she went to Bremerton where she worked in the Puget Sound Navy yard as a P.B.X. operator and in the personnel department. After her husband returned from the South Pacific and was sent to Camp Parks in California, she joined him and went to work in the personal Quartermasters Department at Oakland, California. 

After the war ended, they returned to their home in Centralia where she became a homemaker until their children were in school. She then went to work in the bookkeeping department for the City of Centralia. She retired after working for 25 years. 

During their retirement, they enjoyed traveling in their motorhome and spending winters between Southern California, Arizona and Mexico. Wilda was a member of the Episcopal Church and a life member of the DAV and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Orthopedic Guild and the Sunshine Garden Club. 

She was preceded in death by a son, Gregg, and her husband, Ivan J. Osborne, of 64 years. She is survived by her son Gary, and his wife Diane Osborne and her former daughter-in-law Barbara Coccia (Bob). She has five grown grandchildren: Jennifer Effrig, Robert Osborne (Erin), Laura Risley (Allen), Amy Martin (Ryan) and Stacy Page (Jason). There are nine great-grandchildren: Zachary Osborne, Cody Effrig, Tyller Effrig, Jessica Weytham (Alex), Rebekah Osborne, Malachi Martin, Quinton Martin, Maddox Page and Peyton Page; as well as one great-great grandchild, Aria Weytham. 

Cremation was by the Neptune society. Graveside services will be held at the Claquato Cemetery in Chehalis under the direction of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Chehalis. 

Memorials may be given to hospice, Visiting Nurses, and Riverwest Assisted Living in Wenatchee.
