Washington state Department of Corrections (DOC) and local law enforcement are searching for an inmate, Christopher Brinkley, 33, who escaped from Correctional Industries (CI) Headquarters in Tumwater on Aug. 30.
Brinkley was incarcerated at Cedar Creek Corrections Center, a minimum security facility in Littlerock, and was at CI headquarters as part of his approved work program, according to a DOC news release. He was convicted in King County earlier this year of tampering with a witness and protection order violation and had a release date of June 16, 2026.
Brinkley was last seen around noon on Aug. 30, wearing a red shirt and khaki pants.
“DOC staff and law enforcement are searching the area. If you see Brinkley, do not approach him. Instead, please call 911 or DOC headquarters at 360-480-2696,” DOC said in a news release.
