It is with broken hearts, the family of Jimmie Lyle Taylor announce his sudden passing. He left this world peacefully Feb. 3, 2021. Jimmie was born Feb. 19, 1940, to Beatrice (Hudson) and Lyle Taylor in Ashland, Mich.
He graduated from Sparta High School in 1959, where he played football and ran track. Jimmie joined the United States Air Force after graduating. While stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, S.D, Jimmie met the Love of his life at the USO club, where Patsy worked. They married April 28, 1962, and had three children. Jimmie was a loving and devoted husband and father and was a perfect example of unconditional love. Jimmie was a genuine, kind hearted man, who was loved and respected by many.
Jimmie's journeys took his family to Tennessee, where he worked for Tennessee Valley Authority in 1976, he brought his family to Centralia, Wash., where he worked for Pacific Power & Light. He then went to Wake Island to work as a Power Plant Superintendent until 2008. Jimmie's journey continued to Silver Springs, Fla., were they were camp hosts at Ocala National Forest. He eventually settled in his final home in Eustus, Fla.
Jimmie was preceded in death by parents, Lyle and Beatrice Taylor; brothers, Richard, Roger, and William Taylor; sisters, Doris Brooks and Marilyn Messer; grandson, Austin Palmer.
He is survived by sister, Hope Walters; daughters, Sandra Freeman (Don Lunzer), and Debra (Terry) Palmer; son, Bruce (Kyong Hee) Taylor; grandchildren, April Buchanan, Cassie (Chris) Shaughnessy, Ryan Taylor (Leah Anderson), Jonathan (Leah) Freeman, Amanda Taylor (Sam Redden), Allie Palmer, Emily (Sean) Hughes; great-grandchildren, Damian Bean, Brooklynn Williamson, Rylee and Hunter Bolstad, Archer, Raylan and Barrett Freeman, Haylee Palmer-Bowers, Ivy Anderson-Taylor; and numerous cousins; nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held April 24, 2021, at 1 p.m., at Mt. View Baptist Church, 1201 Belmont Ave., Centralia, WA 98531.
