John F. Hughey was born on Feb. 27, 1942 to Aubra and Louise Hughey in Belle Rive, Ill. He passed away on Dec. 12, 2013.
John joined the Air Force in 1960 after graduating from Rochester High School. He met his wife, Dorothy while he was in the service. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 5, 2013.
John worked for many different companies where he gained many friends. He was a friend to many and a stranger to few.
John is survived by his wife, Dorothy at home in White City, Ore.; two sons, John Jr. and Michael; one brother, William Hughey and wife, Jean; three sisters, Mary Paulin and husband, Frank; Dot O’Connor and husband, Gary and Linda Read and husband, David; two grandchildren, Kristopher Hughey and wife, Amy and Issac Hughey.
A memorial service will be held at Grand Mound Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2014 followed by a reception at the Great Wolf Lodge.
