Kaut Drops Monster Double-Double to Lead Tigers to Second Straight Win

After a stellar outing in Centralia’s opener, Landon Kaut once again paced the Tigers in a 77-54 win over Hoquiam Friday night. The senior post scored 38 points, hauled in 10 rebounds, and dished out four assists in another dazzling performance.

“He’s definitely got that ability,” Tigers coach Kyle Donahue said. “He attacked the rim really well tonight.”

Kaut was just one piece to the puzzle, as the senior was one of three Tigers in double figures, with Cohen Ballard (10 points) and Jayden Pannette (11 points) also scoring well. Centralia shot 50% from the floor as a team and outrebounded the Grizzlies 28-24 on the night.

“It was a really good all around game tonight,” Donahue said. “We were consistent across the board.”

Donahue praised the play of Rex Akins and Cole Wasson for playing the floor well and getting hands on loose balls all night, and also Brandon Yeung, who facilitated the strong offense and played every minute.

“Brandon handled the pressure all game and kept us composed,” Donahue said.

The Tigers host Seton Catholic on Tuesday for their next matchup.
