Three different pitchers kept the game in reach and the Tigers scored the go-ahead runs in the bottom of the sixth to triumph over Cle Elum-Roslyn 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Now at 4-0 on the year, Napavine has showcased the offense in the first three games, but won a pitching battle in the first non-league contest of its season. Layton Griffith, Hudson Chambers and Cal Bullock combined to allow five hits, seven walks and finished with seven strikeouts.
The Warriors scored in the top of the third inning to get out in front. With one out in the sixth, Jack Nelson ripped an RBI double to tie the game at one and Chase Shea poked a run-scoring single through with two outs to put the Tigers ahead.
Bullock stranded the tying run in scoring position in the seventh. Catcher Grady Wilson finished with two hits for Napavine, who will take on Toutle Lake on Monday in the first of two C2BL affairs with the Ducks.
