The Wolves trailed just twice throughout Saturday’s non-league tilt and following an eight-run sixth, they were on cruise control to beat the Rams 23-14 on the road.
Black Hills (5-4) entered the top of the sixth down 13-12 and responded with eight of its first nine batters that reached base. Kailey Miller capped the frame with a two-run double, one of four RBI hits in the frame.
It was a back and forth contest when Black Hills erased a 3-0 deficit with five runs in the second and added on two more in the fourth and three in the fifth to break a 7-7 tie. No. 9 hitter Hannah O’Shurak went 3-for-5 with two triples, four RBIs and three runs scored. Miller and Lily Shipe each registered three hits and a combined seven RBIs.
Black Hills returns to Evergreen Conference action on Monday against Aberdeen.
