I wanted to take this opportunity to thank a local business and its staff for saving my father’s life on April 22.
The Cup coffee stand on North Pearl Street in Centralia helped save my father’s life with their heroic and honorable efforts that morning. They discovered my dad, Jerry E. Houghtaling, having a stroke and in serious medical distress. They helped contact the fire department, EMS and emergency personnel.
They even tried to render aid.
If it wasn’t for their actions that morning, my father would not be alive today. It’s good Samaritans like The Cup and its staff that morning that makes our world a better place. Thank you for being good and upstanding citizens and for caring about your community.
