Apparently The Chronicle decided to take sides in this year’s elections.
The Chronicle chose to report an allegation by the Public Disclosure Commission against the Washington Republican Party just five days before the election.
And then, just to make sure the message got across, they also published an article online from a Murrow News fellow with the headline suggesting Donald Trump wants to divert water from the Columbia to California, an idea that’s been considered and rejected multiple times in the last eighty years.
The timing of these two articles, including the accusation against the GOP, suggests the Chronicle has completed its lean to the left.
I have to say that there has been a lot of negative campaigning on both sides, but the one that truly hits the mark is Dave Reichert’s ad concerning the 40 years of uninterrupted Democrat control of this state.
And look at what that leadership has given us: massive financial misdealings, increased taxes, higher gas prices and an attorney general’s office that was fined $200,000 plus $120,000 in attorney fees for hiding documents in an ongoing legal case concerning a developmentally disabled woman.
And Ferguson wants to be governor?
Unconstitutional laws supported by the attorney general and governor were passed by a Democrat-controlled state Legislature. Unconstitutional taxes on income passed by those same Democrats. Increased crime. Increased murders, armed robbery and domestic abuse. A fentanyl crisis apparently being ignored.
The Democrats obviously are at the root of most of our problems because they’ve been in charge, and yet our local newspaper, in a very conservative district, seems to be doing its best to continue this travesty of governance, both nationally and locally. Maybe what we need is another newspaper.
