Letter to the editor: Commissioner candidate Christina Riley can repair damage that has been done

Posted

Can you believe the race between Lewis County Commissioner Lindsey Pollock and candidate Christina Riley? It’s like watching a reality TV show.

These two couldn’t be more different. But let me tell you, Pollock seems to have a knack for borrowing from Christina’s playbook, kind of like when Kamala borrowed some of Trump’s campaign policies.

Take the whole hydrogen plant fiasco, for instance. Pollock did a complete 180 on her stance just to please her current supporters. First, she’s all, “No way, hard stop,” then suddenly she’s all for it when she needs some endorsements. Talk about flip-flopping. Anything to get a local labor endorsement.

And don’t even get me started on her newfound love for strong families and apprenticeship programs. It’s like she’s suddenly discovered the importance of these things, even though she didn’t seem to care about them before. It’s like she’s running her own little reality makeover show.

Come on, Pollock, if you’re going to borrow from someone else, at least try to make it less obvious. She has had an entire team that could focus efforts over the last four years on jobs before Christina made it her platform. However, instead she focused her efforts on social justice issues and drilling holes in what is left of our county’s boats.

Thank goodness Christina has experience in building bridges, because Lewis County needs her skills for the next four years to repair the damage that has been done. I am voting Riley 2024.
