Dear Congress,

The time has come. We finally have an opportunity to break away from our dysfunctional two-party stalemate. If a moderate coalition can arise — if 218 of you can come together and choose a speaker — we can get back to common sense politics.

We are so caught in party affiliations that we must stay on our side even when our conscience disagrees. We fall in line out of fear. The extremes on both sides hold us hostage.

Please hear me. Come together moderates and make the change we are all praying for.
