As citizens and taxpayers, we have a civic duty to elect serious and thoughtful candidates to represent us in the U.S. Congress.
Candidates who pledge to listen intently to constituents’ concerns and work hard to build bipartisan solutions — they deserve our vote.
Marie Gluesenkamp Perez exemplifies this work ethic and should definitely be reelected for Washington’s Third Congressional District.
Marie has recognized the pressing needs of veterans, farmers and small-business owners — and has turned their concerns into successful legislation and funding for Southwest Washington.
Early this year, she secured over $4 million for the construction of a grain storage and transloading facility at the Port of Chehalis to allow local farmers to move produce via rail. Also in Lewis County, Gluesenkamp Perez’s funding request for $959 million for the Packwood community was granted to install a sewer system and water treatment facility to protect public health and allow for new home construction.
In Thurston County, the SW Washington Agricultural Business and Innovation Park was awarded $500,000 to continue its development of new products, build infrastructure and create jobs. Also included is support for the local food supply chain to become more resilient and responsive to supply chain disruptions.
Marie stepped up for our veterans too — she has held discussions with VA Secretary Denis McDonough about the need to reopen a VA clinic in Lewis County, which would alleviate delays in health care for rural-based veterans.
Marie has been instrumental in pushing for a renewal of transportation vans to transport veterans to medical appointments throughout Southwest Washington.
These actions reveal a congressional House member who is independent, bipartisan and extremely practical with the needs of her constituents always the priority.
Marie has garnered praise from across the Third District as well as dozens of endorsements from organizations representing education, labor and worker councils, public health and the environment.
In her two years as the incumbent, Marie Gluesenkamp Perez has served honorably and independently, earning the trust of voters in order to accomplish more when she is reelected. She deserves your vote.
