Joe Kent is the best candidate to represent us for Congress here in District 3. In March of 2021, I started vetting the candidates for our 3rd Congressional District. At that time there were four candidates running. The last one I vetted was Joe Kent. I was so impressed that he served our country for 20 years in the U.S. Special Forces as a Green Beret on 11 combat tours. He is a Gold Star husband and father of two children. His wife, Shannon, was killed in action along with three Navy Seals in Syria.
Joe retired and returned to the Pacific Northwest to raise his two sons, ages 1 and 3. When he came back, he couldn’t recognize Portland and moved to Yacolt.
I’ve never in my life seen someone work so hard and so focused to represent we the people in our district to change the direction that this current administration is taking America. Many people are concerned that we’re losing our rights, our values and most of all our freedom.
Joe has worked so hard to get out there to the people and answer as many questions as he can. He’s completed around 250 town halls to date and I have been to many of them. I was really surprised how so many attacked him during his campaign. Or they would bend the truth to make it look like something else. That truly shows the dirty side of politics. He took all of the arrows because he’s a warrior. He’s a warrior for us, we the people. He’s determined to bring our American First values back to the people.
I have been reading the letters to the editor and I’m appalled by how people are spreading misinformation and attacks against Joe Kent.
Mimi L., of Vancouver, stated Joe Kent’s campaign created an edited video of his opponent Marie Gluesenkamp Perez. You have been misled, Mimi. Steve Bannon and his team created that video completely on their own. Joe Kent had nothing to do with it. People that follow Joe posted it all over the internet.
Norm H., of Vancouver, stated Joe Kent is trying to shut down Social Security and Medicare. This is false, Norm. The trustees of the Social Security Trust Fund have warned Social Security funds will be depleted by 2035, and Medicare part A will be depleted by 2028. Does anyone honestly want our politicians to do nothing, like they have been doing?
Joe wants to come up with a plan to save it, not take it away. The opposition is spreading fake news to scare you. Don’t fall for it.
Joe Kent is one of the most decent, caring people I have met. Over the last 18 months, I have had an opportunity to meet his two boys and his fiance. Joe follows the Christian faith. He has told us how it has brought him so much closer to God when his wife passed.
I hope you will join me in voting for Joe Kent.
