Letter to the editor: Let's be thankful for what we have in America

Posted

It would be wise if U.S. citizens kept themselves current with global news.

Inflation, caused by the COVID-19 plague, has hit Europe and many other countries. In fact, it may not seem like it, but the U.S. has lessened inflation in our country compared to Europe. Yes, we are struggling with higher prices. But this will pass as it has in the past. If you look at the whole picture, we have little to complain about compared to our ancestors’ history: World War I, World War II, the Dust Bowl and the 1930s Depression, and current hurricanes and floods destroying homes with many deaths.

Hard times are meant to strengthen us and think of helping others, and to make plans for our future when times are rough again.

I've traveled to Europe and Asia. I can verify that there is no greater country. God made it great. Many Americans gave their lives and sweat to keep it that way.

Let's be thankful for what we have.
