Letter to the Editor: Reopened Senior Centers Would Provide Hope for Many

Posted

Some emotions that senior adults may be feeling during a long-term quarantine: Worried, withdrawn, tired, angry, loney, unhappy, confused, desperate and sad. They particularly suffer from lack of socialization, lack of activity/exercise and boredom.

Schools are opening up, restaurants and churches are open at 25%. How about our senior centers? Are we to be last to open? I’m certain there are many isolated seniors who would like to see something in the media that might give them hope of a future opening of their home away from home.
