I wanted to comment on the recent story about Lewis County property value increases averaging about 19 percent in the Nov. 20 edition of The Chronicle.
Lewis County was first known as the Mother County and recently as a disadvantaged one.
We longtime Lewis County residents are seeing people of other areas come and buy homes at exorbitant prices.
Seems the “powers that be” want to keep up with the Joneses, even though we are still trying to deal with a worldwide pandemic.
Another slide into homelessness?
