Letter to the Editor: Sentence for Trump Organization Leader Should Be More Severe

Posted

After admittedly spending 12 years committing 15 felonies, Allen Weisselberg was sentenced to five months in prison. (His tax fraud scheme saved the Trump Organization’s real estate company from paying taxes on $1.76 million of income.)

Without a deal he had in place with the judge in agreeing to testify about the Trump Organization’s financial transactions, Weisselberg should have faced a sentence of 15 years.

Do the math: 15 felonies —sentenced to 10 days for each felony.

With credit given for good behavior, one-third of Weisselberg’s sentence could be knocked off, meaning he could end up serving about 100 days behind bars.

Meanwhile the guiding light behind all this, the guy that signed off on all the tax fraud, gets to play golf while the Republican Party moves into the House and immediately “defunds” the IRS so no more rich people are threatened in this manner.

USA! USA! I think Trump should get off criticizing America and get back to hugging the flag.
