Letter to the editor: Unanswered questions heading into the new year

Year-end questions seeking answers:

Why hasn’t the person that confessed to killing Aron Christensen been charged under RCW 9.41.240, illegal possession of a firearm? He was a minor carrying a pistol. Why hasn’t he been charged under RCW 9A.32.070, second-degree manslaughter? Just what is the prosecutor’s office hiding?

What is the status of the $20 million lawsuit filed by the Christensen estate/family against Lewis County?

What is the status of the investigation of the Centralia police officer who showed up to a critical response intoxicated? Is there also an ongoing investigation of this officer’s superior who gave him permission to respond intoxicated?

Since it has been approximately 17 years since the anomaly called the 2007 flood, and no dam of any type has been needed on the upper Chehalis River, why is time and money still being spent on the proposal to build a dam?

The dam that is proposed will not stop flooding. So, again, why is time and money being spent on this proposal?

It is projected that data centers concerned with AI will need massive amounts of electricity, more than is currently available. Why is there such a big push for electric vehicles?

About 30 years or so ago, paper bags were dispensed with to save trees. Now we are back to using paper bags. Aren’t trees important anymore?

I am sure there are many more questions out there that should be answered. But just like the above questions, I am also sure they, too, won’t be answered.
