Dear editor and the voters who read this,
On Jan. 26, 1947, Bishop Fulton Sheen, a popular radio and later TV commentator, is quoted as saying, "We are at the end of Christendom."
He said, "Christendom is economic, political, social life as inspired by Christian principles. That is ending. Look at the symptoms, the breakup of the family, divorce, abortion, immorality, general dishonesty."
Bishop Sheen continued, "Only those who live by faith really know what is happening in the world. The great masses without faith are unconscious of the destructive processes going on."
We have now reached the final days of the "End of Christendom."
When I was a youngster in the 50s, Americans were concerned with the Soviet Union's government leaders, because the Soviets practiced "situational ethics," believing they could say or do anything that furthered their cause, without regard to any moral or ethical standards. Thus the people of America learned not to trust or believe the Soviets because they would lie, cheat and steal as a tool.
I now realize that our present U.S. government leaders have been practicing "situational ethics" for most of my adult life, trying to put an end to our former "constitution" and "JudeoChristian values" based government.
They are close to reaching that goal.
I hope those U.S. citizens who recently voted for our present government leaders can now recognize that these leaders are trying to destroy our economy in order to achieve their goal of a one party government with absolute control of everything the citizens do or own.
I realize that many voters hate or dislike former president Donald Trump based on the dominant press’s constant anti-Trump rhetoric.
But do they recognize that the only thing President Biden came to office to do, and has done, is reverse the actions of President Trump?
Do they recognize that the destruction of the energy industry, thus double gas prices, giving away trillions of printed money, thus huge inflation, thus high interest rates, presenting weakness and very bad international decisions to the world, thus losing the trust and respect of the world's governments, and of course the southern border?
Do they realize that all of these bad situations would not exist if Donald Trump were still president?
Please consider voting in August and November 2022 and in 2024 for candidates who make decisions based on honest moral values, and based on our U.S. and state constitutions, and who recognize that government is supposed to serve us, not service us.
