Letter to the Editor: What Did We Accomplish With Impeachment Fight?

Posted

Well, it is finally done. The impeachment process is over, right along with millions of dollars of taxpayer money and thousands of hours of government time. So what did we actually accomplish?

We already knew that a number of our congresspeople hated the president. You could see the steam rising out of Nancy Pelosi as she stood there tearing up the president’s speech copy. Why did she feel it was necessary to subject the American public to her childish display of anger?

I too am angry. Angry that they thought our constitution needed defending. It is my opinion that they insulted our constitution with a display of dirty politics. Is there really one person that is worth the cost of such a display ?

I only know of one such person and our ancestors crucified him over 2,000 years ago. We should not have done that either.

Don’t get me wrong, there are things that our president does that I don’t agree with, but he has also done some good things. There should be other less costly forms of sanctions available. Where has our common sense gone? Just my opinion. All of this time and money should have been used against our national debt.

Here’s my message to both sides. Mr. President, you are in charge of our country. Please act like it.

To Mrs. Pelosi and all her cronies, if you can’t do something more constructive, why don’t you retire. Do you really like what you are doing or has your self-appointed ego taken over?

I guess I am just too conservative to believe in what you are doing to the American public. Get over it.
