Letters to the Editor: Cast a Vote to ‘Muddy the Water’

Posted

I voted for Sanders. There I said it. Not something I would normally do let alone admit to but times are no longer “normal.” I consider myself a libertarian leaning independent. I think government is too large and has too much control over our lives. That’s why I voted for Johnson last election. My vote is something that needs to be earned. Not anymore. Why? Because our state has decided to limit our voices by forcing us all into an all or nothing choice. Trump or one of the following. That’s it. Secretary of state Kim Wyman made sure of that by deciding that write-in votes put the libertarian party at 4.9 percent instead of the 5.1 percent that would have put them on the ballot. No other choices.

I think Trump is a an egotistical blowhard. I also think he had done much to improve this country. Wish he did more on the deficit. We should never be deficit spending in this economy. Deeds matter more than tweets. Sanders represents all that I find concerning. Less freedom, more control. So if my vote is to count for anything, it’s this. Let’s have this out. Capitalism vs socialism. So for the next 60 days I’m a Democrat. If I can at least muddy the water, confuse the liberals and make them spend some money on me then it’s worth it. I have heard that this is a felony under the law. Can’t see how. I’m simply an independent voting for an independent.
