The Board of County Commissioners for Lewis County has given notice of a special meeting on Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. in Chehalis to talk about a proposed ballot initiative that would collect sales taxes for the county’s 911 infrastructure.
The meeting will take place at the regular, quarterly gathering of the Lewis County Fire Commissioners Association, which will be held at the Lewis County Fire District 6 station at 2123 Jackson Highway. Because more than one commissioner is slated to attend and discuss county business, the county is required by the Open Public Meetings Act to notify the public through its newspaper of record, which is The Chronicle.
According to the notice, commissioners may arrive at the event at 6 p.m. Dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the formal meeting commences at 7 p.m.
